Businesses of all sizes embrace open source software and the benefits it can bring. While we embrace the open source community, not all software would be appropriate to release for many varied reasons, including intellectual property and proprietary system implementations. Since this is the case for Petzi and how it was built, this device can only be supported by leveraging certain vendor-specific technologies. Most of these technologies don’t have openly available versions themselves that would be accessible and available as standalone consumer services. Therefore, we are not able to provide the source code that would allow others to build a new app or service ecosystem that supports the Petzi Treat Cam.
